LIZ WINFIELD is a reviewer in Studio and contributes both as poetry editor and regular column writer for Famous Reporter. She is also editor for the rePUBlic readings series published by Walleah Press. She has worked as a literary events organiser for popular events including 'Poetry Tasmania' Ross Arts Festival 2000 and 2001, the 2000 and 2001 Hobart Fringe Festivals, the Republic Readings 1999 - 2002, the National Poetry Day Celebrations 1999 - 2001 and the Living Rivers' Festival. She has been a featured poet at the Tasmanian Poetry Festival in Launceston, Hobart Fringe Festivals, the Republic Readings, the 1999 St Mary's College Writers' Festival and the 1999 RAFT conference.

Her poetry works have been published in The Australian, The New England Review, HOBO, CORE, Famous Reporter, rePUBlic readings, Other Poetry (UK), Going down Swinging, SideWaLK, and in the anthologies Republic dreaming 5 poets ( Bumble-bee books, 1999) and Moorilla Mosaic, Contemporary Tasmanian Writing (Bumble-bee books).

Liz's readings have been presented for 5UV Radio, Regional Tasmanian ABC Radio, 'Poetica' on ABC's Radio National and community radio in Launceston. She coordinates and delivers creative writing workshops, also working with young writers. In 2000, she received an Arts Tasmania grant to assist with writing the collection Too Much Happens (Cornford Press), a response to living with chronic illness and disability. e: leggs456@msn.com
