ANNE MORGAN grew up in a family of eight children on the Derwent's eastern shore and now lives at Cascades, on the slopes of Mt Wellington. She is currently a part-time PhD candidate in English at the University of Tasmania, researching the mythology of ship's figureheads.

Anne has taught Aboriginal students on remote settlements in the Northern Territory and has worked in Ireland, France and Belgium. Her first children's book, The Glow Worm Cave, was shortlisted for the Environment Children's Literature Award, 2000. Her most recent book, Warts 'n' All, was published in April 2003 by Koala Books. She has also been published in NSW School Magazine and written an early childhood reader, The Crown and Gown for Cambridge University Press.

In 1999 Anne won the Banjo Paterson Poetry Prize. Since then she has won many FAW Tas poetry awards and has been published in the Weekend Australian, New England Review and Famous Reporter and the RePUBlic Readers 1 and 3. She is also featured on the Showcase of Tasmanian Poetry in The Write Stuff on-line poetry journal.
