Tasmanian Bookcrossing group & Hobart meet-up - 2005/03/04 13:19 Well, this is sort-of on topic.

Do you all know about Bookcrossing?
http://www.bookcrossing.com/

bookcrossing
n. the practice of leaving a book in a public place to be picked up and read by others, who then do likewise.

if you are interested in it there is a Hobart bookcrossing meet-up (and room to start one for other areas of Hobart too). Visit http://bookcrossing.meetup.com/527/ for info about who, when and where.

There's also the Tasmanian bookcrossers group. Visit http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/bookcrossingintasmania/ for info about that one.

It's a great way to share the books you love, find new books to read, socialise/chat with people interested in reading and writing.

I'm thinking about asking Joe if we can set-up an official Bookcrossing Zone outside the TWC office. If we do do that that could be a good place for interested people to start. It'd be great to set-up more places around the state too.

Re:Tasmanian Bookcrossing group & Hobart meet-up - 2005/08/06 09:14 Unfortunately the Hobart meet-up has come to a bit of a standstill. If anyone is interested in getting it up and running again you can sign-up via the website.
