Foster wins Patrick White Literary Award

David Foster is the winner of this year’s Patrick White Literary Award. Foster is the author of more than 12 novels, as well as nonfiction works, poetry, novellas, essays, radio plays and scientific papers. His most recent novel Sons of the Rumour was published by Pan Macmillan in 2009.
Foster has received a number of literary awards throughout his writing career. Foster’s first novel The Pure Land, originally published by Macmillan in 1974, received the Age Book of the Year Award in 1975 and his novel The Glade Within the Grove won the Miles Franklin Award in 1997. He is also the recipient of several Australia Council grants as well as a ‘Keating’ Creative Fellowship in 1991.
