About the author: Since working for almost three years as a governess on a sheep station in New South Wales, Adrienne Charles has had a love of the bush. The ‘fifties’ era was a time of plenty on the land, when wool was bringing a ‘pound a pound’. Before her time on the property, Adrienne worked in a Chartered Accountants office in Sydney. In 1956 Adrienne and a girlfriend started out on a working tour of Australia, hoping to attend the Olympic Games in Melbourne, then the Davis Cup in Adelaide to see the famous duo, Ken Rosewall and Lew Hoad. First stop, Hobart and Adrienne is still here! The two friends, never did get to see the Games or the Davis Cup. Adrienne taught for 25 years at the TAFE in Hobart and has three children and three Grandsons.. Writing has always been of interest to Adrienne since winning school prizes when growing up in Sydney. Adrienne also has a business called Nostalgia Tasmania and designs and produces counted cross stitch kits of historic homes and places around Tasmania. Tumbling Tommy is her first published story. __________________________________________________________________
